Selangor crash out of ACL2 after dramatic 3-2 loss to Persib

Selangor FC’s ACL2 hopes ended by Persib Bandung in a 3-2 defeat, despite an early two-goal lead, leaving them bottom of Group B.

SELANGOR FC were eliminated from the AFC Champions League Two after a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Indonesia’s Persib Bandung at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium.

The Red Giants suffered their fourth consecutive loss, leaving them bottom of Group B with zero points.

Selangor made a dream start, with Chrigor Moraes opening the scoring in the third minute from an Alvin Fortes cross.

They doubled their lead in the 17th minute through a Patricio Matricardi own goal.

Persib, coached by Bojan Hodak, mounted a stunning second-half comeback.

Andrew Jung capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to pull a goal back in the 49th minute.

Adam Alis Setyano then equalised for the visitors in the 81st minute.

Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, a costly error by Selangor goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazrel allowed Adam Alis to score the winner in injury time.

Selangor have two remaining group matches against Bangkok United and Lion City Sailors. – Bernama
