AMPANG JAYA: Police said a post-mortem report by the Kuala Lumpur Hospital today revealed that the death of a six-year-old boy, who was a victim of alleged abuse by his parents in Taman Tasik Permai here, was caused by scald wounds.
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Khairuldin Saad said today pathologists found that the child had suffered burn wounds as a result of being splashed with hot water.
Khairuldin said investigations are ongoing and a couple held to assist in the probe remain in their custody for questioning. The boy's 31-year-old mother and stepfather, a taxi-driver aged 38, were held after his death on Monday.
