Two more arrested over model’s murder

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested two men in connection with the murder of a part-time Estonian model Regina Soosalu, 30, in Mersing, Johor yesterday morning.
Johor Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said the two suspects, aged 27 and 30, both residing in Kuala Lumpur, were arrested at about 12.30am.
“The two suspects have been brought to the Kota Tinggi magistrate’s court to be placed under remand until July 16,” he said in a statement today.
He said the woman, whose body was found in the sea off Pulau Rawa near Mersing early this month, was initially believed to have drowned.
The case was reclassified as murder after injuries were found on her body.
Soosalu arrived at the island on July 1 before being found drowned on the same day.
As of today, police have arrested six individuals in Pulau Rawa to assist in the investigations.
The case is being investigated under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder
