Raja Muda Perlis says good future for athletes through sports

KANGAR: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (pix) said that sports now offered a bright future to sportsmen who were serious.
He said the negative perception on sports must be changed in line with the current developments in the field which offered lucrative income for sportsmen, particularly those with professional status.
"I wish to advise our sportsmen to be serious and committed in maintaining excellent performance besides aiming for professional status," he said when opening a program at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Syed Alwi, here today.
Also present was the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatull Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
The program organised by Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra (YTSP) Perlis in collaboration with the Perlis Education Department, was also attended by State Deputy Director of Education, Nuzrin Nuiman, YTSP secretary Datuk Johari Mohd Darus and former national footballers, Ibrahim Saad, Saidin Osman and Yusri Che Lah.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said sports must also be practised as it was a good platform for maintaining fitness, improving discipline, utilising one's free time and strengthening inter-racial ties. – Bernama
