Rodzali retires, General Roslan Saad new RMAF chief

    KUANTAN: General Tan Sri Rodzali Daud today retired as the 16th Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief and his new successor is General Datuk Seri Roslan Saad.
    The ceremony for the handing-over of duty between the two and the conferment of rank was held at the RMAF base here, in the presence of Acting Malaysian Armed Forces chief, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor.
    Rodzali, who is from Besut, Terengganu has served the RMAF for 42 years.
    In his speech, Rodzali expressed hope that the RMAF would continue to make integrity as part of its culture and for excellent management of assets and human capital for the wellbeing of all its officers and staff.
    "When I was appointed as RMAF chief, I drew up five guidelines to lift the image of RMAF. "This was to ensure that all our officers and other personnel were always in a state of preparedness in facing any challenges.
    "The RMAF's success in Op Daulat and our involvement in the MH370 search mission are some of the things I am proud of...also our involvement in the humanitarian aid missions and disaster relief efforts," he said.
    In light of the MH17 tragedy, Rodzali also called on all in the RMAF to always be careful in carrying out the duties entrusted to them.
    The farewell parade in honour of Rodzali was mounted by 15 officers and 250 personnel of other ranks, while the fly-past involved MIG-29 and F5 fighter jets, Aermacchi MB339CM trainer aircraft, C130, CN235 and B200T transport planes and EC725 helicopters. – Bernama
