Contractor claims trial to alleged RM1m CBT

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 27-year-old man was charged in the magistrate's court today with committing criminal breach of trust amounting to RM1million last year.
Hezlishah Ahmad claimed trial to the offence before magistrate Mohd Fitri Sadarudin.
He is alleged to have committed the offence between noon to 5pm from Dec 10, 2013, to Dec 11, 2013, at a bank in Seberang Jaya.
He was charged with failing to hand over the money to one Rahmah Mohd, 79, after being entrusted with five cheques totalling RM1million from Rahmah.
If convicted, he faces a maximum 10-year jail term with whipping and be liable to be fined.
Mohd Fitri did not grant bail and set Dec 8 for mention with DPP Kamaliza Md Zain prosecuting while the accused was unrepresented.
