Police cripple gang behind several nothern region robberies

BALIK PULAU: Police have crippled the Markisah Gang involved in house break-ins, snatch thefts and car thefts in the northern region.
Southwest district deputy police chief DSP Siti Nor Salawati Saad said three men and a women aged between 18 and 23, were nabbed on Nov 19 at a house at central Seberang Prai.
She said police seized seven stolen cars, motorcycle parts, mobile phones, laptops, watches and cameras among other items valued at more than RM200,000.
"Investigations showed the gang was active in Penang, Kedah and Perak since last year," she said in a press conference today.
Siti Nor Salawati said checks found two of the suspects have previous drug-related records and all of them tested positive for methamphetamine.
She said all four have been remanded until Thursday to assist in investigations.
