'Teamwork is foundation of success'

GEORGE TOWN: The success of a company is built on the foundation of teamwork according to Mini Circuits CEO Datuk Seri Kelvin Kiew.
He said each employee contributes individually to the company as part of a big team and the management on its side has to instil teamwork principles.
He said he realised the importance of teamwork when he joined his high school band.
He said coherent and harmonious music can only be made when members work in unison.
"With the strong foundation built upon these principles, we could work together to achieve common results and goals," he said today after accepting his honorary doctorate from Toyahashi University of Technology (TUT) president Dr Onishi Takashi.
Earlier, University Sains Malaysia (USM) deputy vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Ahmad Shukri Mustapa Kamal opened the International Conference of Global Network for Innovative Technology (iGNITE) 2014.
The three day conference sees 79 papers presented by researchers and technologists by Malaysian and Japanese scientists.
The areas of discussion include imaging and sensing, electronic devices and materials, robotics and automation technology, renewable energy and electronics system design.
