Terengganu mechanic charged with drug trafficking

KUALA TERENGGANU: A mechanic was tentatively charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with trafficking in 157.64gm of metamphetamine.
Syamsul Hafiz Iskandar Salleh, 21, allegedly committed the offence at Kampung Pasir Panjang here at 10.30pm on Feb8.
The charge under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 39B(2) of the same Act, carries the death sentence upon conviction.
No plea was recorded from the accused who was ordered to be further remanded as the offence is non bailable.
The court set March 17 for re mention, pending the chemist report.
