License required for soft gun

JOHOR BARU: Those who own or deal in the sales of airsoft guns must possess a valid license, Johor police said today.
Johor Police Chief Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Sharif said police arrested an airsoft gun seller in Taman Desa Tebrau on Feb 17.
He said the 26-year-old suspect will charged under Section 4 of the Arms Act 1960 which provides for a one year prison term or a fine not exceeding RM5,000 or both upon conviction.
Mohd Mokhtar told a press conference at the Johor Police contingent headquarters here that police also seized 96 units of paintball markers in the shop.
It is learnt that each gun is valued in the range of RM2,000 to RM7,000.
