Rusli takes over as new Johor police chief

JOHOR BARU: Datuk Rusli Ahmad today officially took over as the new Johor police chief with the rank of senior deputy commissioner of police.
Rusli, 58, was born in Ulu Kinta, Perak. and joined the force on Dec 12, 1978, as a probationary inspector.
His last posting was as deputy director (operations) of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department in Bukit Aman.
The handing-over of duties was witnessed by Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah at Johor police contingent headquarters here today.
Rusli takes over from Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Sharif who is now Bukit Aman's Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director.
Meanwhile at another event, Acryl Sani urged the auxiliary police agencies to upgrade their training skills and professional services.
He warned that those who break the law will have their certificates cancelled by the authority.
He said this at a cerificate presentation ceremony for four auxiliary agencies at Johor police headquarters yesterday.
There are 193 agencies nationwide providing auxiliary police services.
