Student killed by 19-storey fall

GEORGE TOWN: A Form Six student died after falling from the 19th floor of a flat in Air Itam here early morning today.
Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the incident happened about 6.55am.
He said the 19-year-old student was found sprawled in a pool of blood between two cars parked on the ground floor.
Investigations showed the deceased was receiving psychiatric treatment for the last two months, he said.
He added the deceased was suffering from mental stress due to declining academic results.
“A postmortem showed the cause of death to be multiple injuries due to fall from height,” he said in a statement today.
Mior added that there were no elements of foul play.
