Only parliamentary select committee can decide on Pua's post in PAC: Nur Jazlan

KUALA LUMPUR: Only the parliamentary select committee can make the decision on Petaling Jaya Member of Parliament Tony Pua's position in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), according to PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
He said this was because the appointment of a PAC member was made by the committee chaired by the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
"His (Pua) name was proposed by the party and he was chosen by the select committee. So, only the committee can suspend his membership," he said today.
Nur Jazlan said this in response to a question on Pua's post in the PAC following the allegation of him meeting former PetroSaudi International Ltd (PetroSaudi) executive Xavier Andre Justo in Singapore.
On Wednesday, Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) also urged Pua to exempt himself from involvement in the PAC's investigations into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). – Bernama
