JAKARTA: The airport in Indonesia's city of Padang remained closed Monday after a passenger plane carrying 178 people overshot the runway in heavy rain, an airline official said.
Three people on the plane operated by budget carrier Citilink were lightly injured in the incident at Minangkabau International Airport on Sunday night, airline spokesman Benny Butar Butar said.
The plane, which served the Jakarta-Padang route, had been towed to a safe location, he said.
Several flights had been delayed, Benny said. – dpa
