We did not lodge police reports: MACC

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today denied that it lodged reports against the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and the Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal on the transfer of its two senior staff as reported in an online portal today.
MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Mustafar Ali in a statement said the news report is not just baseless but has an ill motive to ruin the good relationship it has with government departments and civil servants.
"MACC strongly denies that its officers had lodged reports against chief secretary Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and civil service director general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal under Section 48 of the MACC Act 2009," he said.
Mustafar called all media to report responsibly and not report based on information from unreliable sources.
Last Friday, MACC special operations director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob were transferred to the Prime Minister's Department at short notice.
After a public outcry, their transfer was cancelled by Ali.
