KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) MP Datuk Dr. Mujahid Yusof Rawa (pix) commended the Chinese community for joining the Bersih rally, almost making them the majority participants, as it showed their Malaysian spirit to join all other races.
Sharing his thoughts with thousands of participants, Mujahid said he had his best experience as a Malaysian when he took the decision to sleep with the rakyat on the streets.
"People ask why only the Chinese come out. I told them I don't give a damn. Who cares whether you are Chinese, Malay or Indian. What I do care is we are all Malaysians.
"Last night I had my best sleep. I woke up at about 3.30am and I saw Indians, Chinese and Malays beside me, but who cares," he said.
"Since yesterday I was colour blind, today I am colour blind when I woke up, and I wish I can be colour blind throughout my life," he added.
Mujahid also warned his government counterparts that come October, the opposition MPs will fight to get Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak out of office.
"When we enter the Parliament in October, we will fight so that Najib steps down as the Prime Minister."
