Man beaten to death in shopping mall

    PETALING JAYA: A 53-year-old man was beaten to death at the Brem Mall Shopping Centre in Jinjang today.
    Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said footage from closed-circuit security cameras (CCTV) showed the victim arriving in a black Gen 2, with his female companion at 6am.
    "At about 6.30am, the victim was seen dragged by six men to the staircase near the lift at level five," Munusamy said, adding that a passer-by found him lying motionless at 8.41am.
    "The deceased suffered injuries on the face, he is believed to have been punched and kicked. No stab wounds were found on his body," he added.
    Munusamy said checks also found that the deceased's belongings including his identification card, driver's license, bank card and two mobile phones were not missing.
    The body was taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
    The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
