Spotlight on fashion month's star models

WITH Paris Fashion Week ending last week, the autumn/winter 2016 collection previews are all wrapped up. Here's a look at the most in-demand models from this season's catwalks, as well as the new faces to watch out for in upcoming seasons.
Big hitters
Certain big-name models, already at the height of their fame, were dead certs for the New York, London, Milan and Paris catwalks. That was certainly the case for Kendall Jenner – the darling of designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Olivier Rousteing – who trod the runway for the biggest names in the business. Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Balmain, Versace, Bottega Veneta and, of course, Chanel picked her for their autumn/winter collection previews.
Gigi Hadid – the other star model of the moment – didn't feature in as many previews as her buddy Kendall Jenner, picking and choosing her shows, and often made several appearances in each (Tommy Hilfiger, Versace). With her blonde hair and blue-green eyes, Gigi Hadid was snapped up by Chanel and Sonia Rykiel, and closed the Fenty x Puma show.
Other must-book models making plenty of catwalk appearances include Lexi Boling and Edie Campbell. Boling was spotted on the runway at Tommy Hilfiger, Rag & Bone, Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Prada and Versace, while Campbell was seen at Hugo Boss, Burberry, Prada, Fendi and Chloé.
Hot property
Argentinian model Mica Arganaraz is one of the most in-demand names in the fashion world right now, with her long, lean figure, messed-up hair and androgynous looks proving a hit among designers the world over. It was no surprise to see her on the catwalk for a host of labels in New York, Milan and Paris this season, notching up runway miles for Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Lacoste, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Max Mara, Fendi, Versace, Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Dries Van Noten, Anthony Vaccarello, Chloé and Chanel.
But the rising star who really got fashion month buzzing was Lineisy Montero. The young Dominican was already tipped as one to watch in 2015 after an exceptional season, and her success looks set to continue into 2016. With around 30 appearances across the four fashion capitals, she's without a doubt one of the most-booked models of the latest round of autumn/winter collection previews – if not the most-boked model. Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Lacoste, Tory Burch, J.W. Anderson, Topshop Unique, Burberry, Prada, Moschino, Etro, Diesel Black Gold, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, H&M Studio and Loewe – to name but a few – all picked Lineisy Montero to show off their latest collections.
Ones to watch
Fashion weeks are also a key time for spotting new faces and watching the continuing rise of up-and-coming models. These newcomers aren't yet over-booked, but they're firmly in the sights of plenty of designers. Alanna Arrington is one to watch, picked by Carven, Missoni, Iceberg, Etro, Mulberry, Topshop Unique and Max Mara. She also opened the Altuzarra show.
Two other models shone especially brightly on this season's runway. First, Ruth Bell, already known for her shaved head and masculine looks, was booked for Jason Wu, Burberry, Moschino and Jil Sander shows. Second, Paulina Frankowska, a young Polish model, attracted much attention with appearances at Prada, J.W. Anderson, Erdem, Mulberry, Sportmax, Diesel Black Gold and Marni. — AFP Relaxnews
