A Datuk, two other company directors charged for cheating

SHAH ALAM: A Datuk and his two other company directors, including his wife, who allegedly cheated several individuals regarding the sale of land around Selangor were charged at the Magistrate's Court, here today.
The accused, Datuk Azman Hassan, 44; Datin Bibi Asmilawati Alam Shah, 36; and Supiah Mohammed Yussof, 48, however pleaded not guilty on all 49 charges that were read to them before Magistrate Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin.
They were alleged to have cheated 14 individuals between Nov 31, 2011 and March 2, 2013 of RM470,685 at Syarikat Imej Unggul Property & Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, Jalan Nautika B, U20/b, TSB Commercial Centre in Sungai Buloh near here.
They were charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code which carries 10 years jail, whipping and a fine if convicted.
The court allowed RM23,000 bail for each accused in one surety and fixed May 16 for mention.
Deputy Public Prosecutors Rustam Sanip and Ng Wee Li appeared for the prosecution.
On April 21 last year, the three accused were charged in the same court with 11 counts of cheating involving several other individuals regarding the sale of land.
They were alleged to have committed the offence, causing the victims to lose a total of RM74,510. — Bernama
