JAKARTA: Twelve people were injured in heavy turbulence aboard a Hong Kong Airlines flight that was forced to return to the airport on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, an official said.
The victims, including three crew members, were sent to a hospital in Bali, said Sherly Yunita, a spokeswoman for Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Six other people in a state of shock were treated at the airport's clinic, she said.
The plane, bound for Hong Kong, was carrying 204 passengers and 12 crew members.
The incident came three days after 31 people were injured, including three with spinal fractures, after an Etihad Airways flight bound for Jakarta hit severe turbulence 45 minutes before landing. — dpa
