CULT Swedish fashion brand & Other Stories is teaming up with the risqué New York-based leather accessories designer Zana Bayne on a capsule collection for this fall.
The designer, famous for her bondage-style harnesses loved by Beyoncé, took to Instagram to share the good news with her 78,000 followers. A photo that showed herself and Co-creative Director Todd Pendu picking out samples was accompanied by a caption explaining that the pair have secretly been travelling to Stockholm to work with the brand on the project over the last eight months.
According to WWD, the collection comprises 30 pieces and feature something for all budgets, including a US$29 leather choker and a US$245 bustier. An image shared on Instagram by & Other Stories revealed a skin-tight burgundy leather bustier with a silver buckle.
"We set out to create a leather collection for modern women, juxtaposing the hard and soft throughout; taking pieces such as the leather harness out of its connotations and making it an elegant accessory for layering over any wardrobe in all types of occasions," Bayne told the site.
Founded in 2009, Zana Bayne has become known in the industry for its high fashion approach to S&M and bondage-themed attire, but also offers a full range of skirts, shoes, hats, belts and handbags, as well as menswear.
& Other Stories falls under the H&M label but takes a more Scandinavian, minimalistic approach to design. The brand has become known for its bold advertising strategies, including a headline-grabbing lingerie campaign last December titled 'For Women, By Women', which featured un-airbrushed models with underarm hair, tattoos and scars. — AFP Relaxnews
