British woman killed in Thailand tourist boat crash

LONDON: A British woman has died after a tourist boat capsized near the Thai holiday island of Koh Samui, the Foreign Office said Thursday.
"We are supporting the family of a British woman who has sadly died following a boat accident near Koh Samui, Thailand," a spokeswoman said.
"Another British national has received treatment in hospital for injuries suffered in the same incident. We remain in contact with local authorities in Thailand for further information."
It is believed that the Ang Thong Explorer speedboat was carrying 36 people when it capsized after hitting a large wave earlier Thursday. — AFP
