PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has yet to receive any application from concessionaires or developers for the proposed elevated highway – Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link), said Mayor Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain (pix).
"I do not know because so far there is no application received either at the council level or the state government in which the Selangor executive councilor for infrastructure, public amenities and agro-based industries Zaidy Abdul Talib has already confirmed that the state government has not received any official application from the proposed PJD Link highway developer, PJD Link Holdings Sdn Bhd.
"Probably the application was only received at the federal level or by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM)," Mohd Azizi said after officiating the council's monthly meeting.
According to Mohd Azizi, the latest he knew of the project is that the developer has appointed a consulting company to conduct a market research on residents who would be potentially affected.
"However, I like to stress that development is something we cannot fully reject because all these developments are for the betterment of the residents in the long term," Mohd Azizi said.
The PJD Link expressway is a 34.3km dual-carriage expressway with four lanes and eight interchange or ramps and it is said to follow a similar route as the axed Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex), with the only difference being that the PJD Link does not cut through the busy one-way loop (OWL) in Petaling Jaya.
PJD Link will go through Sprint – Jalan Harapan – Rothmans Roundabout – Jalan Semangat – Federal Highway – Templer Roundabout – NPE – Kesas and ends at Kinrara.
