KOTA BARU: PAS has no deal with Umno involving the states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu with regard to the next general election, said PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
He said any cooperation between the two parties would only be with regard to the welfare and wellbeing of the people.
"So far, there is no agreement. We will only extend cooperation in matters involving the welfare and wellbeing of the people. This has been our policy all along.
"We don't have any cooperation in matters that lead to sin and enmity," he said after visiting and handing over contributions to 100 patients at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII) Hospital here today.
He was asked to comment on the claim by former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir of political cooperation between PAS and Umno.
On Sunday, at a function in the federal capital, Mukhriz said he suspected there was an Umno-PAS agreement involving an exchange that involved Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.
Ahmad, who is also the Menteri Besar of Kelantan, said the issue could have cropped up due to the political confusion at the moment. — Bernama
