PUTRAJAYA: The issue of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loanee Safura Foo, who was blocked from travelling abroad although she had settled her loan, has come to the attention of the corporation.
In a statement to Bernama, PTPTN said it was still conducting further investigations into the matter.
"PTPTN is still in the process of identifying the cause of the delay in updating Foo's payment record.
Earlier, the media had reported that Foo, a former student of photography from Segi College, Subang Jaya, had made full payment on her outstanding loan amount of RM18,449.35 in March last year.
However, she was blocked by the Immigration at the KL International Airport in May this year, as records showed she had RM3,000 left to settle.
In the meantime, PTPTN has urged customers to check their account statements online to ensure that payments made are updated accordingly.
"If the transaction is not updated after three working days, a complaint can be made online.
"In addition, customers may also use this channel to file any PTPTN service-related complaints. Complaints submitted will be handled by officials at the PTPTN headquarters who will deal directly with the complainant until the problem or complaint is resolved," the statement said.
In addition, PTPTN said it was committed to cutting red tape by opening more branches across the country and providing services online via its portal at www.ptptn.gov.my. — Bernama
