KUALA LUMPUR: The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) is offering opportunities to young undergraduates to participate in the LIAM Structured Internship Programme, commencing September.
The programme, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, is aimed at reaching out to young talents in 20 public universities in the country to undergo a three-month attachment with any 16 LIAM member companies.
The talents would be paid a monthly allowance of RM800.
The companies include AIA Bhd, Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd, AmMetLife Insurance Bhd, AXA AFFIN Life Insurance Bhd and Etiqa Insurance Bhd.
In a statement, LIAM President Toi See Jong said the three-month internship experience would open the doors for students to gain an insight on the life insurance industry.
"We hope to create more job opportunities for students from various disciplines and change the misconception that the insurance industry is only focusing on a job as an insurance agent," he added.
The LIAM Structured Internship Programme is open to all final year Malaysian students of all disciplines from public universities with a CGPA of 3.0 and above. — Bernama
