Three arrested for drug-related offences during 'Ops Bersepadu'

KUALA LUMPUR: Three individuals were arrested for drug-related offences at a roadblock along the Cheras-Kajang Highway today.
Kajang district police chief ACP Othman Nanyan said the operation, codenamed "Ops Bersepadu", was conducted between 12am and 6am.
"First two motorcyclists were tested positive for amphetamine.
"The third motorcyclist was arrested as he was a 'wanted' suspect for a case under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 (for taking drugs)," he said in a statement.
A total of 195 summonses were also issued to errant motorists in the six-hour operation.
A total of 73 summonses were issued to motorcyclists who did not have valid licenses, 40 for non-regulation vehicle plates, 24 for expired road taxes, and 17 for broken side mirrors.
Other offences included underaged motorcyclists, driving without insurance, not displaying new driver pass plates (P or L stickers) and modifying motorcycles against Road Transport Act regulations.
