Six elements to give 2016 National Day parade the 'wow' effect

KUALA LUMPUR: Six elements are in place to give the 2016 National Day parade at Dataran Merdeka tomorrow the wow effect.
National Day Parade and Procession Committee, in a statement here today, said the six elements would also ensure a unique and different experience for the spectators.
The first "wow" element is the special action-packed performance by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), featuring its various units and expertise in tackling certain issues.
"With the combination of actions on the street, on the stage and visual support on the giant LED screen, as well as the use of PDRM assets up in the air, it definitely promises something very interesting," the statement said.
The use of the giant LED screen to enhance the graphic and videos of every performance during the parade, which is the second element, would also give the "wow" effect to the spectators.
The third element is an interactive singing performance between members of the choir and the public, which will enable the spectators to be part of the performance, while the fourth element is the use of Jalur Gemilang as the agent of unity, in which the public are encouraged to flock to the Dataran Merdeka wearing national flag-themed outfit to symbolise national unity and solidarity.
The fifth element is an animated performance and giant balloons featuring popular local animated characters, such as Yaya and BoBoiBoy, as well as Didi and Friends.
The sixth "wow" element will involve the seating arrangements which would see the concept of grandstand in a Formula E racing event being used, and hence, enable guests and spectators to have a new dimension for viewing the whole event.
The parade would be divided into 10 segments, namely nationhood, public service, economy, animation, sports, identity, civil defence, national security, air show and integrated community.
Last year's "Sehati, Sejiwa" (One Heart, One Soul) theme has been retained for this year's celebration of National Day. — Bernama
