20 Filipinos detained for using fake ID

JOHOR BARU: Twenty Filipino nationals were detained for various misuse of personal identification documents in an integrated operation carried out by the National Registration Department (NRD), here today.
Its director-general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah said the operation mounted early this morning was carried out in collaboration with the Immigration Department and the Royal Malaysian Police.
"The operation was mounted following a month of investigation and intelligence work by the Putrajaya NRD Office," he said in a statement.
Also seized were fake identity cards and registration documents.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspects had used fake documents to get jobs in the Pasir Gudang industrial area.
Mohammad Razin said the suspects would be remanded to facilitate further investigations. — Bernama
