Man assaults security guard after being refused entry

PETALING JAYA: Footage of a man assaulting a security guard with what is believed to be a parang has gone viral recently.
In a posting by "We are Malaysians" Facebook page, today, the incident believed to have occurred in Bandar Botanic, Klang last Saturday, the recordings show a car driver reacting angrily when the security guard does not lift the boom gate for him to enter the residential area.
The first video shows the man proceeding to push and shove the security guard before another guard and fellow passengers arrive to diffuse the situation.
The second video shows the argument escalating at the guard house and the same individual dashes into his car and retrieves a weapon believed to be a parang before running back to the guard house.
A security guard is then seen escorting the man back to his vehicle before leaving the area shortly after.
According to the administrator of the Facebook page, it speculated that the individual had injured the guard before running away.
It also called on the police to take immediate action.
At press time, the posting had garnered 3,900 shares and 202 comments, many of which condemned the actions of the man.
When contacted, South Klang district police chief ACP Alzafny Ahmad confirmed the incident, saying that the case is currently being investigated.
He also urged members of public who have any information on the case to contact the South Klang district police headquarters at 03-33762222.
