National basketball player performs CPR on unconscious man

    KUALA LUMPUR: A video of national basketball player Mohd Shadzwan Kamalrulzaman performing CPR on an unconscious man has gone viral on social media.
    Malaysian Basketball Association (Maba) president Lua Choon Hann who confirmed the incident on his Facebook account said the whole incident was captured in a 50-second video clip.
    In the 5pm incident on Tuesday, Mohd Shadzwan, 27, and his team mates had arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport to take part in the 21st Super Kung Sheong International Basketball Invitational Championship, which ends on Dec 18.
    They were about to board the team bus which would take them to their hotel when they heard a woman screaming for help.
    In the video, a man was seen lying unconscious, his lips blue, frothing at the mouth.
    Mohd Shadzwan rushed to the unconscious man and performed CPR on him until he eventually showed some response.
    To date, the video clip has been viewed by 38,000 people and shared 190 times.
    Meanwhile, Maba also congratulated Mohd Shadzwan in a message on their Facebook account.
    "Proud of you, Mohd Shadzwan Kamalrulzaman. Saving a life at Hong Kong airport," the statement read.
    It was reported that Mohd Shadzwan was not even aware that he was being filmed and was just happy that he was able to do his part in saving the man's life.
    Mohd Shadzwan has been part of the national basketball squad for the past two years.
