Feedback from media enables state govt to take remedial measures, says Zambry

IPOH: The Perak state government has not banned media personnel from covering its functions despite some unfavourable news reports, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.
"We practice democracy although some say otherwise.
"On the other hand I get feedback from the media on the performance of government officers and elected representatives.
"Such information enabled us to take remedial measures and also solve issues raised.
"Media representatives are the people on the ground and know the problems well," he said in his speech at the Perak Media Nite 2016 here last night.
The event organised by the Perak Media Practitioners Association was attended by about 200 media representatives from all over the state.
Six media representatives including theSun staff writer in Ipoh, P. Chandra Sagaran, 59, were honoured for their long years of service in the industry.
The others are Azizan Hashim, 61, (Berita Harian), Haron Shafie, 60, (Suara Perak online) , Lam Koon Yeu, 55 (TV3), Mazalan Rafji, 56, (RTM) and Hashim Mamat, 76, (Utusan Malaysia).

Among the guests were Perak State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan, Ipoh Mayor Datuk Zamri Man, elected representatives and senior editors of several newspaper publications.
