Illegal cut-and-join lorry operator gets death for murder

IPOH: An illegal cut-and-join lorry operator was sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court here after he was found guilty of murdering a security company manager, four years ago.
Judicial Commissioner S.M.Komathy Suppiah sentenced Lee Meng Boon, 39, to death by hanging for the murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He was also found guilty of two other charges under Section 307 of the Penal Code which carries a 20 year jail term.
Based on the witnesses' evidence, she said: "You are the one who fired the shots. The court finds you guilty and sentences you to death."
Prosecution presented 14 witnesses throughout the trial from June 2015.
The accused remained calm and showed no emotions when the interpreter translated the death sentence.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Harris Ong Mohd Jeffery Ong prosecuted while the accused was represented by Sudesh Singh.
He was charged with the murder of Jasrafveendeerjeet Singh, 29, in front of Sun Heng Restaurant at No 350, Lebuh 5, Kampung Simee, at about 10.15pm on July 28, 2013.

He also faces two charges of attempting to murder Sarbjit Singh, 32, and Kok Loo Kong, 59, at the same place, date and time.
