JOHOR BARU: Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said all government agencies need to tighten up their cyber security measures to prevent leakage of personal data by cyber criminals.

He said this after visiting the South Johor Chinese Press Office at Taman Maju Jaya here on Saturday.

"Services linked to the internet are prone to hacking by cyber criminals, so we need to tighten up our cyber security."

In doing so, Nur Jazlan said, the ministry would review the security access given to vendors and contractors.
"Although the standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place but access rights of suppliers and vendors need to be restricted through the "source code" clause under the terms in agreement."
Concerns about personal data were raised after the recent arrest of two high ranking officers of Iris Corp by by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged corruption and power abuse last Thursday.
