AMPANG JAYA: Police have recorded statements from 15 individuals in relation to the assault incident at a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa, here.
The incident last Saturday which was captured on video showed a group of men assaulting two people near the condo's guard house.
Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Hamzah Elias said investigators have sent a close-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage capturing the incident to the forensics department.
"Both drivers were not seriously injured in the fight," Hamzah said in a press conference at the district police headquarters here today.
He urged the public to stop making speculations surrounding the video which has since gone viral on social media.
"I advise the public to avoid sensationalise and speculate on the case. These speculations are not aiding the probe" he said.
Hamzah said this after he was asked to respond on recent posts by netizens who had shared the number plate of the car involved and promised retaliation.
It was previously reported that police had detained a suspect in his 30's allegedly involved in the case.
Hamzah also denied rumours that the car is owned by a Datuk.
"Checks found that the car belongs to a couple, neither whom are a Datuk," he said.
Selangor police chief Commissioner Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said earlier in a police function at Rawang that they have already identified some of the men involved in the fight.
"To those involved, surrender yourself to the police. If they do not, we will go after them.
"We cannot let such things happen, as if there is no law in this country," he said.
When asked if a 'Datuk' was connected to the case, Abdul Samah said only the Datuk's driver was involved.
In the 2 minute 49 second video, the victim, a lorry driver clad in red could be seen defending himself helplessly as he was pinned to the ground and was repeatedly kicked and punched.
Another man, believed to be the victim's counterpart was also seen being manhandled but fled from the condo.
