Karaoke operator found murdered

JOHOR BARU: A female karaoke operator was found sprawled in a pool of blood in the bedroom of her house at Jalan Suria 2 here on Wednesday.
The victim identified as Ong Siew Hong, 59, was allegedly murdered murdered by one of her employees at about 4pm.
A nine inch kitchen knife was found embedded in the left side of her waist. There were also injuries on her head and face.
Johor Baru Selatan (JBS) district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh ( R ) said the deceased could have gotten the injuries during a scuffle with the suspect.
Following a call received from a member of the public around 2pm, he said, police went to the scene and found the suspect standing by the road side with blood on her face, head and left cheek, believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
Police who summoned an ambulance sent the suspect to hospital.
Sulaiman said they found in the suspect's possession a notebook, a bag with some belongings.
He added they managed to resolve the case within five hours after receiving the call.
The suspect who received 16 stitches on her head and face is on remand until Feb 1 to assist police in their investigation.
Ong's body was sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for post-mortem.
