SHAH ALAM: The Petaling District and Land Office has taken the lead among Selangor agencies to sign the Corruption-Free Pledge, in an effort to provide just and transparent services.
Petaling district officer Datuk Mohd Misri Idris led his officers and staff in taking the pledge at the office, witnessed by Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director Datuk Wan Ramli Wan Abdullah.
The pledge introduced this year by MACC aims to create awareness among individuals on their responsibilities to avoid involvement in graft and abuse of power.
Wan Ramli said MACC needs the support and commitment of every officer and staff of the agency to report any corruption in their daily duties.
"We also want every vendor and contractor dealing with the agency to sign the pledge as well," he told reporters after the ceremony.
Wan Ramli said MACC would work with the Selangor Education Department to ensure that every principal and district education officer signed the pledge in April. – Bernama
