Perkep Sabah should make use of internet to promote programmes: Ramli

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din has advised the Police Family Association (Perkep) in the state to effectively use the internet as a platform to disseminate information on its programmes.

He said through mediums like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, all members of the association could share the activities organised, thus creating space for wider communication and to pool ideas.

"I see this approach can expand the relationship network between Perkep members even outside their districts or contingents," he said when officiating the Sabah Perkep Annual General Meeting here, today.

Also present were Sabah Perkep chairman, Datin Faziah Md Khalis.

At the same time, Ramli said it was time for the association to get more creative in organising programmes for the growing number of members.
"Therefore I would like to urge the Perkep Sabah committee to organise programmes which provide optimum benefit, not only to its members, but also make the association proud.

"I also encourage the association to organise programmes to unearth talents of members, such as in arts and crafts, which can indirectly help increase their income," he added.

Ramli said Perkep played a huge role in helping police officers carry out their duties.

"I admit there is heavy responsibility at home, as members of the police force, we need to be focused and dedicated 24 hours-a-day. At times, we have to sacrifice our time off with wife and children in order to meet the demands of the job," he said. — Bernama
