At First City University College, you can! If you register for any foundation programmes at First City UC and commit to continue with a bachelor’s degree at the institution, you would be able to start your foundation class without paying any tuition fees for the first semester. On top of that, First City UC will further give a 30% discount off the first semester’s tuition fees when you continue your degree programme after completing the foundation course.

Foundation programmes with pathways
First City UC offers three university foundation programmes, namely Foundation in Art & Design, Foundation in Business Administration and Foundation in Engineering, Science and Technology. Each of the one-year intensive course leads to a range of specialisation in further undergraduate degree programmes at First City UC under various study disciplines.
During the one year, students study for three semesters which include modules specially designed to provide them with foundation knowledge and basic skills as introduction to more advanced levels of studies in their undergraduate programmes. Students are tasked with creating their own projects to develop their practical skills whilst being guided by their tutors and lecturers to allow them to discover their own personal interest as preparation to pursue specialised disciplines in their degree studies.
Apart from the academic modules, students are expected to take part in extracurricular activities which include study visits to companies in the relevant industries
of their programmes, working on community projects and organising team building events. These activities provide students with opportunities to experience holistic education and acquire life-long skills such as communication, organisation and problem-solving which have become very important qualities much in demand by employers and companies.
International partnership
Once students complete their foundation studies and commence their degrees, they will benefit from quality, specially-designed degree programmes which are run in collaboration with reputable universities in United Kingdom. Students pursuing programmes offered in collaboration with these universities, for example Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), will receive two degree certificates; one from First City UC and one from ARU. This dual award certification will provide students with recognition and validation from two higher education providers to give them the edge which will set them apart from their peers.
