KUALA LUMPUR: Art Market Malaysia is back for the third time to create avenue for budding and disabled artists at One Utama Shopping Centre, from April 1 to 30.
In collaboration with The National Autism Society of Malaysia (Nasom), the market will be selling the artworks from disabled artists, especially from the Autism children at below RM100 for funding purposes.
Art Market founder Hazrita Hatta said the market which started two years ago was based on the concept of charity, where these artists and artisans could have their own booth.
"The disabled artists, as well as autism children, will showcase their artwork through live drawing to the public at their own booth.
"Over 30 pieces of their artworks will be sold under RM100 and we only pump 10% of the sales to cover our management fee and the rest will be given to Nasom.
"On April 8, we will have a charity dinner where the first 200 members of the public can have free meal from Mak Ngah Catering with us and the disabled artists from 6.30pm," she told Bernama here, today.
She said besides organising charity programs for the disabled artists, Art Market Malaysia also played a role to recognise and unearth the art talents of sutism children.
The art market will be opened from 11am to 9pm. — Bernama
