28 children held over modified bicycles

MERSING: The police have detained 28 children between 12 and 15 here and seized as many bicycles that had been modified without proper specifications and brakes even.
Mersing Police chief DSP Cyril Edward Nuing said the arrests and seizure were made under the 'Ops Lajak' operation conducted in the town last Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters at the Mersing district police headquarters, Cyril said the children had been released unconditionally and their parents were summoned to the police station and advised accordingly.
He also said that the police were considering action against the parents.
