KAJANG (Jan 30, 2014): A mentally unstable man allegedly slashed his seven-year-old daughter to death and seriously wounded her two sisters at their double-storey house in Bandar Baru Bangi today.
The dead girl suffered serious slash wounds on her neck while her siblings aged 10 and 12 sustained multiple cuts on their bodies.
Police said the victims eldest sister aged 15 had returned home at about 4.30pm and found her two wounded sisters writhing in pain on the ground floor.
When her father emerged carrying a bloodstained parang, the teenager took off and alerted the police who arrived at the scene minutes later.
Selangor deputy police chief DCP Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said the father had fled when police arrived but a search for him led the police to the 44-year-old suspect two hours later not far from the house.
He said the injured children were sent to the Kajang Hospital where they were warded for their injuries.
Abdul Rahim said the suspect was also treated at the hospital for injuries he is believed to have sustained in a fall during his escape.
The victims mother who was at work at the time rushed back home upon being notified.
The couple's eldest child, a 17-year-old boy, was also away during the incident.
Police learnt from their initial investigations that the suspect was depressed after losing his job two months ago.
