KUALA PILAH: The murder of Nur Aina Nabihah Muhammad Abdullah, nine, last Wednesday was not linked to 'air jampi' (special drink for spiritual healing), say police.
The 'air jampi' which was prepared by an ustaz had nothing to do with the third year pupil's death, said Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin.
He said police investigations currently focused on the cause of death of the victim who died on the way to the Tuanku Jaafar Seremban Hospital, after she was reported to be unconscious at her family house in Lukut, Port Dickson on Jan 31.
A post-mortem revealed that Nur Aina Nabihah had sustained injured kidneys, ruptured intestines and rib fractures caused by blunt objects.
Noor Azam was speaking to reporters today, when met at the Sekolah Menengah Tunku Besar Burhanuddin Seri Menanti at the school's prefects and police cadets appointment ceremony.
Also present were school principal Burhanuddin Adnan Abd Aziz and Kuala Pilah police chief, Supt Haslah Bachok.
Yesterday, Port Dickson police chief Supt Zainudin Ahmad was reported as saying the police seized a water container filled with 'air jampi' which was used by the victim's father to 'cure' the girl.
Nur Aina Nabihah's father and stepmother, aged 35 and 34, have been remanded for seven days until Thursday to facilitate investigations into her murder. — Bernama
