IPOH: The waiting game is over for Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), Asia's first animation theme park located in Bandar Meru Raya, which will be opened to the public on June 26.
Those who had earlier bought the passes will be able to use them to enter the park. The passes are valid for a year.
Malaysians with MyKad will be able to purchase the passes at discounted rates of RM148 for adults and RM114 for children, senior citizens and the disabled.
Those without MyKad and foreigners will be charged RM190 and RM150 respectively.
Malaysians who book online will enjoy further discounts and would only need to pay RM144 for adults and RM114 for other categories while other visitors will be charged RM150 for adults and RM120 for other categories.
Online passes are valid for three months from the date of purchase and can be purchased at www.mapsperak.com.
The park, a joint venture between PCB Development Sdn Bhd and RSG MAPS Sdn Bhd, will be an added tourist attraction to the state.
Built on a 20.8ha site, the RM520 million attraction houses both international and homegrown intellectual properties (IPs),including DreamWorks characters.
It will have more than 40 attractions in six themed zones, namely Dream, Blast Off, Live Action, Lakeside, Floating Island and Fantasy Forest Zones. The tagline for the theme park is "Live Your Dreams".
Among the attractions are Mr Peabody and Sherman, Megamind, The Croods and Casper The Friendly Ghost, The Smurfs Live Animation, Stunt Legends, Southeast Asia's first car and bike live stunt show held in a 2,000 custom-built arena for the visitors.
Other attractions include the 52m Megamind Megadrop, which is Malaysia's tallest drop tower, the Home of Boboiboy Animation, also the world's first, and other international varieties of themed performances, food and beverages and retail outlets.
In the Blast Off Zone, it houses the MAPS iTV Broadcast Stage, which broadcasts key happenings of the park live and where guests can be their very own celebrities at MAPS.
