'Bahara Emas' theatre performance brings anti-corruption message

KUALA LUMPUR: 'Bahara Emas', the first theatre performance organised by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) which brings the message of anti-corruption is being staged for the first time in front of over 200 audience at the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Auditorium here tonight.
The performance, which will be until Oct 22, revolves around the era of the 8th Sultan of Malacca Sultan Mahmud Syah, and highlighted the various elements of corruption and slander, which were rampant during the era.
Directed by Rosminah Tahir, the theatre features almost 50 actors, including Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Esma Daniel, Farahdhiya, Nor Zizi Zulkifli, Izzue Islam and Mubarak Majid, with music arrangement by Datuk Suhaimi Mohd Zain, or better known as Pak Ngah.
The show is produced in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the MACC, in collaboration with Ctra Production, DBP, Istana Budaya and Aswara. — Bernama
