Batu Caves temple devotees nab snatch thief who robbed tourist (Video)

KUALA LUMPUR: Devotees at the Batu Caves Sri Subramaniam Hindu temple here gave chase and nabbed a 22-year-old snatch thief when he attempted to rob a foreign tourist who visited the place on Tuesday.
Two foreign tourists were at the entrance of the temple at about 1pm when the suspect who was riding a motorcycle rode up close to one of them.
The suspect grabbed a shoulder bag from the victim before attempting to flee the scene.
However, several devotees who spotted the commotion rushed over and pounced on the suspect who fell off his motorcycle.
The youth was then apprehended by bystanders and placed in a gated enclosure before police were called in.
The victim managed to recover her lost bag.
Gombak police chief ACP Ali Ahmad told theSun that the suspect was handed over to police and has been remanded.
He also seized from the suspect a motorcycle that was reported stolen here.
A video footage of the suspect being held and handcuffed by police also went viral in cyberspace.
