Blueprint will only achieve objectives if indians supports govt in GE14: Najib

BUKIT GANTANG: The Malaysian Indian Blue Print which was launched in April will only be fully realised and achieve its objectives if the Indian community continues to support the government in the 14th General Election (GE14), said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
He said the Indians should think before making choices and decisions, including taking into account the party which has an agenda for their (Indians) development.
He said there is no denying Barisan Nasional's (BN) proven track record to develop the Indian community in Malaysia, unlike the opposition which has no record or action plan to develop the community.
"If we are instigated and vote based on feelings, it'll be futile, then we will be the losers. The country is increasingly successful, especially with the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) vision.
"Our grandchildren today are still in school and they must have the legacy of Malaysia's a success from this day," he said at a "Jom Bantu Rakyat" programme and listening to a briefing on the development of Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (SRJK) Tamil Taman Kaya, here today.

The national blueprint for the Indian community launched on April 23 was meticulously crafted through a comprehensive and inclusive approach to uplift the Malaysian Indian community, especially those in the B40 group (bottom 40% of households with monthly income of RM3,900 and below).
The prime minister said he had appointed MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam as executive chairman of the MIB with the responsibility of monitoring all the programmes for the Indian community.
In addition, Najib, who is also BN chairman, said the government practices a policy that development implemented must be inclusive so that no ethnic groups or individuals were marginalised or left out of mainstream development.
"We are also thankful that we live in a country that practices the policy of moderation," he said.
On the construction of SRJK (T) Taman Kaya, Najib said the project was the relocation of SJK (T) Ladang Holyrood, Selama, Perak, which was built during 1937 and now has only three students.
The project is a three-storey building block costing RM7.8 million that is being constructed on 1.5ha of land, courtesy of the Perak state government and is scheduled for completion in June next year.
The prime minister said there were currently 523 Tamil schools nationwide. — Bernama
