Budget 2019 to include incentives for Industry 4.0

SUBANG JAYA: Incentives for Industry 4.0 will be included in Budget 2019, said Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Dr Ong Kian Ming today.
Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, including the Internet of Things and big data.
"The manufacturing sector in Malaysia must progress in tandem with efforts to raise competitiveness and embrace modernisation. The government will provide conducive business environment, enablers and relevant policies for companies to improve, to be more competitive and adopt Industry 4.0," he said at the
13th Conference on Status & Outlook of the Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry here this morning.
Ong said the government will roll out the National Industry 4.0 Blueprint this year, where the government will act as an enabler towards digital transformation of the manufacturing and related services sector.
