Case of police officer not allowed to vote on May 5 to be referred to EC, DPP: IGP

TAWAU: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will refer the case on a police officer not allowed to cast his vote during early voting last May 5 to the Deputy Public Prosecutor or the Election Commission (EC), said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
He said this was to determine the next course of action to be taken following a report lodged by the officer concerned.
"Investigation is being conducted by my officers in Bukit Aman," he told reporters after opening a crime prevention programme "Towards a Prosperous Tawau" here today.
A copy of the the police report has been viralled on the social media since two days ago.
The police officer claimed that he was told by the EC officers that he could not vote as their records showed he had already done so.
Following which, he showed the EC officers his left index finger that was not stained to prove he had not cast his vote, but it was not accepted. — Bernama
