Cavani injury worry for Uruguay after two-goal heroics

Sochi, Russia (dpa) - Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez says he is "worried" about an injury to striker Edinson Cavani but has no further immediate information. Cavani scored both his side's goals in a 2-1 defeat of Portugal to put Uruguay into a quarter-final match against France on Friday.
But the Paris Saint-Germain striker limped off with some 20 minutes remaining. "Cavani sustained an injury tonight and we will have to see how that evolves as it's not clear at this stage how serious it is," Tabarez said. "He felt pain and I don't know (what the injury is), I haven't spoken to the medical team.
"We don't have a lot of time for recovery. We will have an analysis and a diagnosis. We are right now only worried but we don't know how serious this injury is." Cavani's header in the seventh minute and a curled first-time shot in the 62nd, seven minutes after Pepe had equalized for Portugal, take his total for the tournament to three.
According to FIFA, at 31 he is the oldest Uruguayan to score a World Cup brace, 108 days older than Diego Forlan who scored twice against South Africa in 2010.
